Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • Find answers to common questions about our e-bike assembly services.

Which way do the pedals thread on an e-bike?
E-bike pedals thread just like standard bicycle pedals. The right pedal (drive side) has a standard thread, while the left pedal (non-drive side) has a reverse thread. This prevents them from unscrewing while you ride. Always check for 'L' and 'R' markings on the pedals.
Why won't the throttle work after assembly?
There could be several reasons. Common issues include loose or incorrect cable connections, the battery not being fully seated or turned on, the display not being active, or a safety feature that requires you to pedal a quarter turn before the throttle engages. Our assembly process includes checking all connections and testing the system to ensure everything is functioning correctly.
How to align hydraulic disc brakes out of the box?
To align hydraulic disc brakes, first slightly loosen the two bolts holding the brake caliper to the frame or fork. Then, squeeze the brake lever firmly and hold it. While holding the lever, carefully retighten the two caliper bolts. This should center the caliper over the rotor. Release the lever and spin the wheel to check for rub. Repeat if necessary.
What is normal brake rub after a few rides?
It's normal to have some very minor brake rub as new brake pads "bed in" with the rotors during the first few rides. However, persistent or loud rubbing is not normal and usually indicates a misalignment of the caliper or a bent rotor. If you experience significant or ongoing brake rub after the initial bedding-in period, it's best to have it checked.
How much of an e-bike is pre-assembled in the box?
The amount of pre-assembly varies by manufacturer and model, but typically the main frame, motor, and battery are already integrated. You will usually need to install the front wheel, handlebars, pedals, seatpost and saddle, and sometimes fenders, racks, or lights. Our assembly service handles all of this to ensure your bike is built correctly and safely.
